4 Months!

Our sweet baby girl is 4 months old. I will say it every month, but really, where does the time go?! Over the past month, Emma has been learning so many fun new things and is slowly becoming more of a baby and less of a newborn (tear!)

She has really found her voice, hands, and feet this month. We love hearing her sweet voice. She has learned the process of communication and enjoys answering our many questions- and even gets a little frustrated if we don't respond to hers!

She loves grabing her feet and kicking anything near them (including the nurse who was trying to draw her blood at her check up. Hey, I warned her!)

"Hey, what's that? Oh, my hand! And it tastes SO good!"

Emma truly is the light of our eyes and we adore everything about her. However, it is clear that our little peanut has quite a "persistant personality." She knows what she wants and wants it NOW. If she had it her way (which sometimes she does...) she would be "attached" to me eating 24/7. I mean, I don't blame her, I'd love to fall asleep while eating, wake up, eat a little more, then fall right back asleep all while snuggled with my Mommy. It is a rough life.

Today she had her 4 month well baby check up. She weighs 12lbs 8 oz and is 23.5 in. long. She is right on track and meeting all of her milestones (yay!) I will even brag and say she is ahead with most of her physical skills. She can roll from tummy to back,  hold her head 90 degrees, AND stand pretty steadily (with assistance, of course).
She was not too happy about getting 3 shots along with her blood drawn, but she handled it like a champ. I'm pretty sure we're going to have to take out a loan for all of the things daddy is going to buy her after seeing the tears and battle scars.

Poor Baby!

Oh, and another milestone this month? She GIGGLES! It is the sweetest giggle in.the.world. One of my favorite things is when she giggles while I do squats with her in the Moby wrap. Talk about a workout motivator!

 [Favorite!]

Dear Sweet Emma,

You have brought so much joy to us over the past 4 months. Every day is brighter with you in it. We can't even remember what life was like without you, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Your favorite things are mommy's milk, dancing with daddy, and singing along with Taylor Swift. We have many nicknames for you, such as "peanut" "peanut butter" and, "little bit." You have the sweetest little personality and it is clear to us that you are going to grow up to be a strong and independent young lady, with a genuine heart and beautiful smile. This past month you have become so much more interactive which has allowed us to learn more about your fun personality. As much as we'd like for you to stay a tiny newborn forever, we can't wait to see what this next month brings and look forward to watching you learn and grow. We love you to the moon and back!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy
